All new applicants considered suitable for employment with the Division must successfully complete a minimum of ten days training prior to enrolment.

- Emergency Procedures
- Alarm Systems and Security Controls
- Personnel and Material Access Control
- Traffic Control
- Bomb Threats, Response and Searches
- Worker’s Compensation Board Regulations

- Fire Prevention, Detection and Safety
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
BASIC STANDARDS TRAINING LEVEL 2 (24 Hrs.)

Candidates must successfully complete the provincial examinations for both these courses. Cost of each exam is $50.
FIRST AID Emergency Level (8 Hrs.)
- Emergency Scene Management
- Artificial Respiration - Adult
- Choking - Adult
- Cardiovascular Emergency and One-Rescuer CPR - Adult
- Severe Bleeding
- Shock, Unconsciousness and Fainting
- Minor Wound Care
Candidates must successfully complete the St. John Ambulance practical examination. Cost $50.

Cost for Conflict Resolution is $10.
Selected Commissionaires who have sufficient on the job experience and have demonstrated the requisite supervisory potential will be provided with the Supervisor's Course in preparation for filling a supervisor position.
